It’s not fitted yet so hope it works ok
Instructions could have been a bit clearer but did contain useful hints, such as tippexing each part before dismantling as everything has to go back the same way. Also responded helpfully to a phone call on clarification as the replacement retaining clip is sided, and it wasn’t clear which way round it went. It needed a lot of manual expanding before it fitted, but fit it did, eventually. Only downside is that I suspect that further repairs will be impossible as the new version of the retaining clip doesn’t appear to be removable…
I finally found a company that does these, caps so I had to but them, saves buying a new strimmer and a little less costly

wasn’t the perfect fit, but managed to fit it by removing a bit from inside, and cant do screws up tight as the cord doesn’t go back in, but it does the job
